Wyatt Technology's family of instruments offer the most advanced and versatile technology solving your most difficult macromolecular characterization needs.

More than 30 years ago, Wyatt Technology's scientists invented the very first commercial light scattering instruments incorporating lasers as their light source. The US government was the first customer of these innovative technologies, designed to meet the need of specific applications including the detection of toxicants in drinking water and monitoring of particles in undersea environments. We've been defining and redefining the state-of-the-art laser light scattering hardware, software, training and services to meet customer needs for over three decades. Along the way we've added several related technologies to our product line:

Field Flow Fractionation (FFF)
for gentle and high-resolution separation and fractionation of nanoparticles, proteins, colloids, and other macromolecules:

Multi-Angle Light Scattering (MALS)
for absolute molar mass, size and structure of macromolecules and nanoparticles:

Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS or QELS or PCS)
for size, size distribution and polydispersity of proteins and nanoparticles in solution.

Differential Refractive Index (RI)
for concentration detection and dn/dc determination at the same wavelength of light as the light scattering instrument:

Viscometry Detection (VI)
for online differental viscometry detection, intrinsic viscosity measurements and structure determination of polymers:

Electrophoretic Mobility (MP-PALS)
for mobility, zeta potential and size measurements of proteins and nanoparticles down to 1nm.

Composition-Gradients Multi-Angle Light Scattering
(CG-MALS)
for absolute molar masses and macromolecular interactions.
